Our Fundraising Goals
The P&C have consulted with Mrs Tegg (our school principal) on the most pressing needs for our school community. Mrs Tegg has highlighted the importance of STEAM - Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics. These have been identified as key areas by educators across Australia that will drive future jobs growth.
We can help our children at SIPPS achieve in STEAM, by fundraising to provide them with the following:
1) Multi Purpose Learning Spaces
Spaces that lend themselves to a variety of learning styles and activities are best. Multi PurposeL earning Spaces are classrooms which can be :
2) A Robotics Program
We would love to have a Robotics program at SIPPS where our children can learn to create, code and experiment with technology.. Through robotics our children will gain the skills required for the 21st Century.
Our Fundraising Strategy for 2016
The Ku-ring-gai Carnival of Cultures will be the Major Fundraiser for SIPPS in 2016!
The event will also be an excellent opportunity for us to teach our children the benefits of being part of a multicultural community as well as teaching them entrepreneurial skills.
What is the Ku-ring-gai Carnival of Cultures?
The Ku-ring-gai Carnival of Cultures will take place on Sunday 30th October from 9am – 4pm on the school grounds. There will be:
Carnival rides (unlimited rides passes for $25. $5 from every pass sold will go to SIPPS)
Stallholders selling international food, as well as clothing and toys
Finalists from local schools will perform their Multicultural Perspectives Speech
Multicultural Dance & Music performances (some featuring our own SIPPS students)
Martial Arts Demonstration
SIPPS students will also be asked to come up with ideas on how we can make money at the Carnival. The ideas will come from the children, but the class parents will be responsible for coordinating and implementing the ideas. This will be a great opportunity for the children to see their ideas come to life, and also achieve a sense of contribution to fundraising for their school.
How You Can Help
The event is being run by a small committee (we're talking about 4 people here!). We really need more help in order to make the Ku-ring-gai Carnival of Cultures a successful event. EVERYONE can help – we have lots of little tasks which will take less than 30 minutes of your time.
